Small daily habits shape the life we lead. That means changing little actions each day can change your life.
The challenge is making a new habit stick—it often feels overwhelming.
That’s why running shoes collect dust, gym memberships go unused, and New Year’s resolutions fade within weeks.
Desire alone isn’t enough to change behavior. We need simple tools that help us build habits. That’s why I created this free 30 day habit tracker printable.
It’s designed to help you reach your goals and become the person you want to be.

30 DAY HABIT TRACKER: WHY TRACKERS WORK
1. Tracking behavior changes behavior.
Habit trackers work because monitoring our actions changes them. As Gretchen Rubin says, “We manage what we monitor.”
When we track what we do, awareness grows and behavior shifts. Many people underestimate how much they eat and overestimate how much they exercise. Tracking makes those habits visible, and visibility prompts change.
For example, research shows that keeping a food diary alters eating habits. Tracking spending has the same effect—when I recorded our take-out expenses, we quickly cut back after seeing the real cost.
2. You create a chain of success.
A habit tracker also builds momentum. Once you mark a few days in a row, you form a visual streak you won’t want to break. That sense of progress helps habits stick—James Clear calls this “don’t break the chain.”

IDEAS FOR WHAT HABITS TO TRACK
Start by imagining the future version of yourself who has the routines you want. What does that person do daily? How much do they sleep, eat, and exercise? What time do they wake up? What habits have they eliminated?
- Exercise
- Drink enough water
- Read
- Journal
- Get 7–8 hours of sleep
- Limit social media (for example, 15 minutes)
- Arrive to work or school on time
- Wash face
- Floss
You can also track abstaining from a behavior. For example, mark each day you don’t eat out or don’t open Instagram. The tracker is flexible—use it for starting new habits or reducing old ones.
