Chili-Glazed Salmon with Sriracha Cream Sauce Recipe

I wasn’t always a fan of fishy-tasting seafood, but I’ve found that the right preparation can make salmon irresistible. When the sauce is outstanding, the fish becomes secondary to the delightful flavors coating it. This Chili-Glazed Salmon with Sriracha Cream Sauce is one of those recipes: the glaze is sweet and savory, and the quick Sriracha cream adds a bright, tangy finish. It’s a great way to enjoy salmon more often, and it worked well for us as a tasty, family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Servings: 6
  • 1 ½ lbs salmon (cut into 6 fillets)
  • ⅓ cup chili sauce
  • ¼ cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 ½ tbsp Sriracha sauce
  • 1 tbsp reduced-fat mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup plain non-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ¼ cup scallions, diced (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Make the chili glaze: whisk together the chili sauce, soy sauce, grated ginger, brown sugar, and three of the garlic cloves until smooth.
  2. Prepare a rimmed baking sheet by lining it with foil or parchment and spraying lightly with an olive oil mister or non-fat cooking spray.
  3. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared sheet and spoon the glaze evenly over each piece. Let the salmon sit at room temperature and marinate for 30 minutes.
  4. While the salmon marinates, prepare the Sriracha cream sauce: combine the Greek yogurt, mayonnaise, Sriracha, lemon juice, salt, and the remaining minced garlic. Stir until well blended and set aside.
  5. Preheat the broiler. Spoon any leftover marinade from the baking sheet over the fillets, then broil the salmon (without turning) until cooked through, about 8–10 minutes depending on fillet thickness. Watch closely to avoid burning.
  6. To serve, drizzle each fillet with the Sriracha cream and garnish with diced scallions.
