FAQs about this Slow Cooker Granola Recipe
How long will the batch keep?
Stored in an airtight container after it has fully cooled, homemade granola is best within the first one to two weeks. If kept sealed and dry, it can remain fine for up to about a month.
Do I need a non-stick slow cooker?
A non-stick slow cooker makes this recipe easier, but if your slow cooker isn’t non-stick, lightly spray or brush the insert with oil before adding the granola mix to prevent sticking.
What fruit and nut mix should I use?
Use any dried fruit and nut combination you like. A mixed pack with coconut adds a pleasant chew and flavour, but feel free to choose your favourites — raisins, cranberries, chopped almonds, pecans or seeds all work well.
How many portions does this make?
This recipe yields approximately eight portions (about 50g each). You can double the ingredients if you want a larger batch; cooking time may increase slightly.
What can I serve with the granola?
Granola is versatile: enjoy it with milk, stirred into Greek yoghurt with fresh berries, or use it to make granola bars. It’s a great pantry staple for varied breakfasts.

Slow Cooker Granola Recipe
Ingredients
- 2 Egg whites
- 250 g Jumbo oats
- 6 tbsp Honey
- 150 g Mixed nuts and dried fruit
- 1 tsp Ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Whisk the egg whites until light and fluffy, but not stiff.
- Mix in the oats, honey, mixed nuts and dried fruit, and cinnamon until everything is evenly coated.
- Pour the mixture into the slow cooker and cook on HIGH. Leave the lid slightly ajar to allow moisture to escape. After about 1 hour, stir gently and check it isn’t sticking. Cook for 2–3 hours total. Stop when the edges are just starting to crisp — the rest will firm and become crunchy as it cools.
- Turn the granola out onto a baking sheet or baking paper to cool and harden. Once completely cool, store in an airtight container.
