How to Remove Coffee Stains Quickly: Tip Tuesday Guide

I don’t usually write about cleaning, but coffee stains drive me absolutely crazy. I come from a family of coffee drinkers: we each have our own Tervis tumblers and refill them multiple times a day.

One of our tumblers seemed to soak up every bit of coffee. It resisted even the dishwasher and stayed stained no matter what I tried.

Here’s a simple, effective tip: fight coffee stains with toothpaste. I actually use toothpaste on many surface stains — it works on cups, mugs, and other hard surfaces.

Wet an old toothbrush, apply a small dab of non-gel toothpaste, and scrub the stained areas. It took me about ten minutes to get the stain out. If a stain is particularly stubborn, add a pinch of baking soda and a little white vinegar to the paste and scrub again.

The tumbler looked brand new afterward, and I was no longer embarrassed to carry it around.
